Billings, MT – A winter weather advisory is in effect for multiple regions in Montana, including the Pryor/Northern Bighorn Mountains, Red Lodge and Beartooth Foothills, and Paradise Valley, with snow expected from this morning through Friday. The National Weather Service forecasts varying snow accumulations, with travel conditions likely to be impacted across the affected areas.

For the Pryor and Northern Bighorn Mountains, snow is expected to begin at 6 a.m. today and continue until 6 p.m. Friday. Accumulations could range from 6 to 12 inches, with wind gusts up to 35 mph, potentially making high-country recreation hazardous and travel difficult.

In the Red Lodge and Beartooth Foothills, the advisory will be in place from 6 p.m. this evening until noon Friday. These areas could see 2 to 5 inches of wet snow, which may create slushy road conditions, particularly along Highway 212 from Roberts to Red Lodge. Drivers should prepare for slippery spots and reduced visibility.

The Paradise Valley region, including Highway 89 through Emigrant, is also expected to receive 1 to 4 inches of wet snow from 6 p.m. today until noon on Friday. Although most roads are likely to remain wet, some areas may become slushy, making travel challenging.

Residents and travelers should slow down, use caution, and check the latest road conditions by calling 511. The National Weather Service advises that these conditions could impact visibility and road safety. Stay updated with local forecasts as conditions evolve, and prepare for challenging travel throughout these areas of Montana.
