Great Falls, MT – A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Big Belt, Bridger, and Castle Mountains, beginning at 3 a.m. Thursday and lasting until noon on Friday. The National Weather Service forecasts up to 4 inches of snow in the area, with wind gusts reaching as high as 45 mph.

Drivers should prepare for slippery road conditions, especially around mountain passes, as snow and wind are expected to reduce visibility. The heaviest snowfall is anticipated from Thursday evening through early Friday morning, particularly over Bozeman Pass, which could see challenging driving conditions during the Thursday evening commute.

Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution while traveling. Checking road conditions before setting out is recommended, as travel may be impacted by slick roads and drifting snow. For current road updates, call 511 or visit the Montana Department of Transportation’s road report website.
