Great Falls, MT – A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 3 p.m. Saturday, impacting parts of Montana, including Cascade, Judith Basin, and Fergus counties.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall of up to 4 inches is expected in higher elevations like the Little Belt and Snowy Mountains. Lower elevations, including Great Falls and Judith Gap, may see 1 to 3 inches. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph, significantly reducing visibility in affected areas.
The storm’s most intense period is forecasted for Saturday morning into the early afternoon. Residents should prepare for slippery roads and hazardous travel conditions, particularly in mountain passes like Kings Hill.
Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling. Updated road conditions are available by calling 511 or visiting Montana’s Department of Transportation website.
This storm marks one of the season’s stronger weather systems, with its combination of snow and high winds creating challenging conditions across the region.
