Great Falls, MT – The National Weather Service in Great Falls has extended Winter Weather Advisories through noon Monday, as fresh snow and gusty winds continue to impact portions of north-central Montana, including the East Glacier Park Region and the Little Belt and Highwood Mountains.
Forecasters report additional snow accumulations of up to 2 inches near East Glacier Park and Marias Pass, with heavier totals of 2 to 5 inches — and localized amounts up to 7 inches — possible in the Little Belt and Highwood Mountains, including Kings Hill Pass.
Winds are expected to gust up to 40–45 mph, reducing visibility and creating slick, snow-covered roads during the morning commute. The NWS warns of slippery travel conditions across mountain passes and urges drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling.
The advisory covers areas including Babb, East Glacier Park, Neihart, Monarch, and Saint Mary. Conditions are expected to improve later today as precipitation tapers off by early afternoon.
Motorists can check current road conditions by calling 511 or visiting the Montana Department of Transportation’s road report website.
