Montana – Dawn breaks over the rolling plains near Glasgow as early gusts ripple through open fields and push dust across wide stretches of Highway 2 and MT-24. The air feels brisk and unsettled, carrying the sharp edge of November wind as it whistles across the eastern prairies. Anyone heading toward Fort Peck Lake should brace for choppy water and strong gusts capable of rocking small craft.

According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, a Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 p.m. Southwest winds of 15–25 mph may gust up to 35 mph before shifting westerly this afternoon. Waves on Fort Peck Lake could reach 4 feet, creating hazardous boating conditions. Local anglers, duck hunters, and recreational boaters should use extreme caution and stay close to shore.

Today also brings a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly late morning into early afternoon, with highs near 60. Clouds thicken tonight with another 30 percent rain chance. Saturday turns calmer as skies gradually clear and temperatures settle in the upper 40s. To be fair, the break is brief. According to NWS meteorologists, Sunday stays partly sunny but cooler with highs near the upper 40s.

The early-season shift becomes more noticeable Monday. A weak disturbance may produce light rain early, followed by a chance of snow Monday night as colder air deepens over northeast Montana. Models hint at a broader “Winter Tease” by midweek, with Tuesday carrying another chance of rain and snow. Accumulation looks limited, but any icy patches could slow travel north of town.

After all, November often turns quickly as Thanksgiving approaches.
