Billings, Mont. – Dangerously hot temperatures are building across Montana, with highs in the mid- to upper-90s expected in Billings, Miles City, and Big Timber through at least Thursday, along with a rising risk of afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

According to the National Weather Service in Billings, temperatures will peak midweek, with Big Timber forecast to hit 97°F on Tuesday and Miles City nearing 99°F. Scattered storms could develop daily starting Tuesday afternoon, especially in central and eastern parts of the state. Residents planning outdoor activities are urged to monitor the forecast and stay weather-aware as lightning and sudden downpours may develop quickly.
