Billings, MT – Residents across central and southern Montana can expect continued rainfall through the weekend, with precipitation slowly decreasing by Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service in Billings.
Forecasters report that most areas, including Billings, Livingston, Miles City, and Sheridan, could see between 0.2 and 0.5 inches of additional rain through Sunday night. Heavier pockets up to 0.6 inches are possible near Lodge Grass and Red Lodge, while lighter totals are expected north toward Jordan and Glendive.
According to the NWS update issued early Saturday, October 5, the steady showers will gradually taper off as a weak system moves east. Cooler temperatures and occasional drizzle may linger into Sunday morning before drier conditions return.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution, as wet roads and reduced visibility may affect travel on I-90 and I-94. Outdoor plans may also be impacted by the damp conditions.
The NWS says clearer skies and a return to mild fall weather are expected early next week.
