East Glacier Park, MT – Drivers across northwestern Montana are urged to use caution this morning as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon MST Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Great Falls.

The advisory covers the East Glacier Park Region, including Marias Pass, Logan Pass, Babb, Saint Mary, and Kiowa. Forecasters say an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow could accumulate before conditions begin to improve by midday.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snowfall is expected around Marias Pass on Highway 2, where slick conditions have already been reported. Bridges and overpasses are expected to be especially icy, and visibility may be reduced in heavier snow bands.

Motorists traveling through Glacier County and along the Highway 2 corridor should reduce speed, allow extra travel time, and be prepared for slippery stretches, particularly in shaded or higher elevation areas. Pedestrians are also advised to use caution on sidewalks and driveways, which may become icy during the morning hours.

The weather system is forecast to taper off this afternoon, with gradual improvement expected later today as temperatures remain near freezing.
