Glasgow, Montana – Rain will move into northeast Montana tonight, creating wet roads before a sharp drop in temperatures brings a transition to light snow by early Thursday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, precipitation will begin as rain Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday, with gusty winds developing through the day. Highs Wednesday will reach the 60s before temperatures fall rapidly Wednesday night, dropping into the teens and 20s.
By late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, rain will mix with and change to light snow across Glasgow, Wolf Point, and surrounding areas. While significant accumulation is not expected, the temperature drop could create slick spots on roads, especially along US-2 and MT-24 during the early morning hours.
Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility in rain Wednesday afternoon and watch for icy patches by Thursday morning as temperatures fall below freezing. Winds may also create brief blowing snow where precipitation lingers.
Conditions improve by Friday with sunshine returning and highs rebounding into the 40s and 50s, followed by milder weather into the weekend. Additional advisories may be issued as temperatures drop and precipitation transitions midweek.
