Glasgow, MT – The National Weather Service in Glasgow has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 5 a.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, warning that the first winter storm of the season will bring freezing rain, accumulating snow, and gusty winds across northeast Montana.
Light freezing rain is expected early Monday morning before a cold front moves through the region, changing precipitation to snow by the afternoon. Areas including Glasgow, Wolf Point, Plentywood, Sidney, and Glendive could see 1 to 4 inches of snow, with higher totals likely in Daniels and Sheridan counties.
Winds up to 35 mph will create blowing snow and reduced visibility, especially Monday evening as temperatures drop sharply. Forecasters caution that roads, bridges, and overpasses may become slick and hazardous, impacting Thanksgiving week travel across major routes like U.S. Highway 2 and Interstate 94.
Motorists are urged to slow down, allow extra time, and check Montana 511 for updated road conditions. Conditions are expected to improve by Tuesday morning as the system moves out.
