Bozeman, MT – A Snow Squall Warning remains in effect until 12:15 p.m. MST Monday for portions of Gallatin, Madison, Jefferson, and Broadwater counties, as a fast-moving squall produces whiteout conditions and hazardous travel along Interstate 90, according to the National Weather Service in Great Falls.

At 11:40 a.m. MST, radar detected a dangerous snow squall extending from southeast of Toston to near Three Forks, moving east at 55 mph. The storm is generating intense bursts of snow and gusty winds up to 35 mph, rapidly reducing visibility to near zero.

The NWS warns that travel could become dangerous within minutes, especially between Three Forks and Belgrade. Affected areas include Manhattan, Logan, Trident, Willow Creek, and nearby state parks such as Missouri Headwaters and Madison Buffalo Jump.

Motorists are urged to slow down, use headlights, and avoid sudden stops. Forecasters caution that even brief squalls can lead to chain-reaction crashes due to abrupt visibility loss.
