Glasgow, Montana – Gusty winds and dry heat will sweep into northeastern Montana Friday, pushing Glasgow’s high to 85°F with afternoon gusts topping 23 mph.
According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, Friday will be partly sunny and breezy, with west winds at 10 to 15 mph shifting northwest by night. Though skies remain dry, the low humidity and winds raise concerns for fire weather, especially along U.S. Route 2 and open areas in Valley and Roosevelt counties.
While no official fire weather warnings are posted yet, residents should avoid open burning and secure loose outdoor items Friday. Friday night stays breezy, with gusts up to 23 mph continuing after sunset and lows dropping to 58°F.
Saturday brings more sun but less wind, with highs near 83°F and northwest winds calming after midday. Skies remain mostly clear into Saturday night. Sunday continues the warm, dry trend, hitting 83°F under sunny skies. Wind gusts return slightly Sunday afternoon, peaking near 18 mph.
Next week, summer heat intensifies. Monday’s high surges to 88°F, followed by a hot Tuesday at 92°F — the warmest of the stretch. Showers and storms may return by Wednesday, with early outlooks hinting at afternoon thunder chances.
Warnings are not in effect yet, but a prolonged dry period and increasing winds could elevate fire risks. Stay tuned for any weekend advisories.
