Glasgow, MT – A flood advisory remains in effect for northeast Montana, including Glasgow, as rain and melting snow continue to cause rising water levels in low-lying areas. The National Weather Service warns that urban flooding and small stream overflows could impact travel through 2 PM Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, heavy rain on Tuesday combined with snowmelt has led to standing water on roadways and flooding in drainage areas. Affected counties include Daniels, Dawson, Garfield, McCone, Petroleum, Phillips, Prairie, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan, Valley, and Wibaux. Residents in Glasgow, Wolf Point, Sidney, and surrounding towns should remain cautious, especially when traveling near flooded roads.

Looking ahead, warmer daytime temperatures through the weekend will continue to increase snowmelt, maintaining a risk of minor flooding. Forecast highs in Glasgow will reach the upper 40s to low 50s through Saturday, while overnight lows dip below freezing. Although precipitation chances remain low, melting snow could cause further issues, particularly near rivers and streams.

Authorities urge drivers to avoid flooded roads, as most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles. Residents should monitor weather alerts and be prepared for potential water accumulation in urban areas. For the latest updates, visit the National Weather Service website.
