Monroe, MI – A 58-year-old Monroe County man was arrested Friday after investigators linked him to an alleged child exploitation case spanning Michigan and Texas.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest followed a joint investigation with the Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable’s Office Task Force in Texas. Authorities say the man had allegedly been communicating with an undercover detective in Texas and sending child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Texas investigators secured a warrant for the suspect’s arrest, which included extradition back to Montgomery County, TX. Monroe County’s VIPER Detectives then executed a search warrant at the man’s Frenchtown Township residence on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025. During the search, multiple electronic devices were seized and suspected to contain additional CSAM.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Monroe County Jail pending extradition.
Sheriff Troy Goodnough confirmed the ongoing investigation may result in additional charges. Detectives were assisted at the scene by Deputy Liedel and K9 “Stretch,” a specialized electronic detection dog used to locate concealed media devices.
