Monroe County, WI – A Sun Prairie man was arrested Thursday morning following a high-speed pursuit along Interstate 94 that began near the Black River Falls area and ended near Tomah, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the incident started around 11:40 a.m. on October 23, 2025, when deputies received reports of a possibly stolen vehicle traveling westbound on I-94. A Sheriff’s Office Sergeant located the vehicle after it entered Monroe County and attempted to pull it over, but the driver allegedly refused to stop.

The suspect exited I-94 at Warrens and continued west on County Highway EW to US 12, reportedly reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. Wisconsin State Patrol and Tomah Police deployed tire deflation devices ahead of the pursuit. The vehicle came to a stop before the devices were used, and both occupants were detained without incident.

Deputies identified the driver as 41-year-old Nicholas House of Sun Prairie. House was taken to the Monroe County Jail and faces multiple charges, including operating a vehicle without consent, possession of THC and drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping, and numerous traffic violations.

Investigators say House was already out on bond from a Dane County case filed earlier this year for felony flee/elude and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. A passenger in the vehicle was released at the scene.
