Pittsford, NY – Three juveniles were arrested Sunday morning after Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen SUV and multiple credit cards connected to two overnight thefts in Pittsford.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called at 6:40 a.m. Sunday to a Pittsford home for a report of a stolen 2023 Toyota Highlander taken from a driveway. Investigators say the vehicle was left unlocked with the key fob inside, along with a wallet containing a credit card.

Less than an hour later, at 7:29 a.m., deputies responded to a second Pittsford home on a nearby street after a wallet and four credit cards were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The homeowner reported unauthorized charges already appearing on two cards and provided video showing four suspects entering the vehicle around 12:38 a.m.

Investigators determined the two incidents were likely related and contacted the vehicle manufacturer, which agreed to share the SUV’s location due to the active theft report. At 10:15 a.m., deputies learned the vehicle was parked in the 4100 block of West Ridge Road in the town of Greece.

With assistance from the Greece Police Department, officers located the stolen Toyota in a business parking lot with three juveniles sleeping inside. Deputies also recovered the stolen credit cards from both Pittsford homes, according to authorities.

A 16-year-old Rochester male was charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of stolen property related to the vehicle and credit cards. Authorities say he is a repeat offender with prior violent felony arrests. A 17-year-old Rochester male was charged with felony possession of stolen property and is also described as a repeat offender who was allegedly on parole with an ankle monitor. All three juveniles were arraigned in Monroe County CAP Court, released to a parent, and are scheduled to appear later in Monroe County Family Court’s Youth Part.
