MOMENCE – A 50-year-old man is dead after a semi hit him overnight.
According to Illinois State Police, it happened around 11:30pm when they were called to the eastbound side of Route 17 near Heiland Road where a man had been hit. The man, later identified as Daniel Cromwell, died at the scene.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the accident. The roadway was closed for about five hours while an investigation was underway.
