Momence, IL – House Fire Causes $80K in Damages, Multiple Departments Respond

Momence, IL – A structure fire in the Garden of Eden neighborhood caused an estimated $80,000 in damages Tuesday evening, requiring assistance from multiple fire departments.

According to the Greater Momence Fire Protection District, crews responded at approximately 4:40 p.m. to a single-family residence engulfed in heavy flames. Firefighters from Momence, along with Auto Aid and neighboring departments, worked for nearly seven hours to extinguish the fire and conduct overhaul operations.

The fire protection district expressed gratitude to several assisting agencies, including Aroma Park Fire Department, Kankakee Fire Department, Peotone Fire Protection District, and others. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
