Momence, IL – Residents across Momence and the surrounding Kankakee County area are invited to a communitywide Holiday Dinner taking place Friday, Dec. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 21 N. Dixie Highway.

According to event organizers, the annual gathering aims to bring families, neighbors, and local businesses together for a free holiday meal. The dinner will feature a full spread including ham, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, dinner rolls, and a variety of desserts and refreshments. A cash bar will also be available for attendees.

Organizers say the event draws hundreds of residents each year and depends heavily on community volunteers. Those interested in helping with setup, serving, or cleanup are encouraged to contact coordinator Christy Ritter at (815) 514-4285.

RSVPs are requested by Dec. 6 and can be submitted at several participating locations throughout Momence, including the Edward Chipman Library, Municipal Bank, Sluggers, 4 Spry, Southside Meats, Rich’s Tap, Sluggers Sports Bar, St. Patrick Church, First Baptist Church, Methodist Church, New Life Church, and 21 North Gaming Lounge.

The dinner is open to all residents, offering both a holiday meal and an opportunity for neighbors to connect before the winter season. Event staff note that no one will be turned away, even if they are unable to RSVP.

Residents who plan to attend are encouraged to arrive early, as seating and food availability may be limited during peak times.
