Moline, IL – A fire broke out Tuesday morning in a multi-family apartment complex on 11th Avenue A, displacing a family. The Moline Fire Department received the emergency call at approximately 10:34 a.m. and arrived within five minutes to find heavy smoke billowing from a two-story unit.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed that all occupants had evacuated safely, thanks to working smoke detectors that alerted residents. Firefighters initiated an aggressive attack on the fire, containing it within 15 minutes. They stayed on-site to conduct a thorough investigation, ensuring no smoldering remains posed further risks.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist a family displaced by the fire, providing immediate support. The Rock Island Fire Department, Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department, and East Moline Fire Department provided additional assistance. Mid American Energy also secured the building’s utilities for safety.
