Mokena, Illinois Hosts Independence Day Celebration with Live Music, Food Trucks and Fireworks July 3

Mokena, IL – A full day of music, magic, food, and fireworks is set to take place Thursday in Mokena as the village and park district team up for an Independence Day celebration at Main Park.

According to the Mokena Community Park District, festivities begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Main Park, 10925 W. La Porte Road. Admission and parking are free, with activities stretching into the evening hours.

Families can enjoy free kids games and inflatables from 4 to 6:30 p.m., while a Food Truck Fest will run from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Vendors include Hawaiian Food Truck Chicago, Smokin’ Z BBQ, TCBY, Joey’s Red Hots, Cousins Maine Lobster and more.

Live entertainment kicks off at 5 p.m. with a performance by The Encore Concert Band, followed by a family-friendly magic and art show by Dan Gogh from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The evening will feature Chicago party band 28 Days, who will perform from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and again after the fireworks. Known for their high-energy shows, the band has played more than 2,700 events since 2006.

The night will close with a fireworks display beginning at 9:30 p.m., lighting up the sky over Mokena in celebration of Independence Day.
