Kansas City, MO – Strong winds are sweeping across Missouri today, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph in parts of the state. A Wind Advisory remains in effect for northern and northwest Missouri, particularly along and north of Interstate 70. Local officials urge residents to secure loose outdoor items and exercise caution on roadways.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), winds will blow from the west-northwest at 25–35 mph throughout the day, with stronger gusts possible in open and rural areas. Gusts could make driving hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles along I-70. The advisory is expected to last until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Temperatures will remain cool, with a high near 49 degrees in Kansas City and lows dropping to 31 degrees tonight. Breezy conditions will persist into Thursday, though gusts will taper to around 25 mph by the afternoon.

Looking ahead, Thursday’s high will be near 43 degrees under sunny skies. Friday brings slightly milder conditions, with a high of 47 and light northwest winds. The weekend promises clearer skies and a warming trend, reaching 54 degrees Saturday and climbing to 63 degrees by Sunday.
