Kansas City, MO – Dangerous heat and severe weather are expected to hit northern Missouri and northeastern Kansas this afternoon, posing significant risks to residents. The National Weather Service in Kansas City has issued an enhanced risk of severe storms, predicting dangerous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will soar to 94°F today, accompanied by high humidity. Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop after 4 PM, with the most intense activity occurring between 4 PM and 9 PM. These storms may produce wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph, hail up to the size of half dollars, isolated tornadoes, and possible flash flooding.

The forecast for the week ahead shows continued unsettled weather, with thunderstorms likely on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will bring a respite with clear skies and cooler temperatures, peaking at 64°F. The weekend will see a mix of sun and clouds, with a chance of rain on Sunday.
