St. Louis, MO – Missourians should prepare for a bitterly cold start to the week as an arctic front brings single-digit temperatures and snow.
The National Weather Service forecasts cloudy skies Monday with a high near 24 degrees. By Monday night, temperatures will begin to drop sharply, with lows reaching the low teens. On Tuesday morning, residents north of I-70 may see a slight chance of snow, which could lead to slick roadways during the morning commute.
By Tuesday night, temperatures will plummet even further, with lows dipping to around 7 degrees. Wind chills will make it feel even colder, so residents are encouraged to dress in layers, check on vulnerable neighbors, and limit time outdoors.
The cold snap will continue into Wednesday, though sunny skies may bring a slight reprieve. Highs will reach the upper 20s, with overnight lows remaining frigid near 18 degrees. Looking ahead to later in the week, temperatures are expected to climb back into the 40s by Friday.
Stay updated with the latest weather reports and be cautious on the roads as icy conditions could develop early Tuesday.
