St. Louis, MO – Residents in St. Louis can expect a beautiful, sunny day today with temperatures reaching a high near 61 degrees. The mild weather will bring a welcome reprieve, but it won’t last long. Rain, thunderstorms, and even the potential for heavy downpours are forecast for the weekend, particularly impacting those traveling on major routes like I-70 and I-55.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), today’s conditions will be calm with light winds, making it a perfect day for outdoor activities. Temperatures will range from the upper 50s to low 60s, ideal for wearing light layers or a jacket. However, tonight’s forecast shows a dip to around 40 degrees, with mostly clear skies expected to continue into Saturday.

By Saturday evening, clouds will gather as rain likely moves into the area overnight, along with a possible thunderstorm after midnight. Rain chances stand at 60% by early Sunday morning, with southeastern winds increasing. Sunday itself will see an even greater chance of rain, with thunderstorms possibly developing in the afternoon and evening. Motorists should plan for potentially wet and hazardous conditions on roads like I-70 and I-55.

Heavy rain is expected to persist into Monday, with NWS predicting up to 90% rainfall chances. Some of the storms could produce intense rainfall, so residents are advised to monitor weather alerts and exercise caution if traveling. Temperatures on Monday could climb as high as 74 degrees before cooling slightly by Tuesday, with continued rain likely.

For those with outdoor plans, make the most of today’s sunny skies. Stay tuned to local weather updates as conditions evolve, especially if you’re traveling over the weekend.
