St. Louis, Missouri – Near-record warmth will peak across Missouri through Tuesday before a sharp shift brings widespread rain and cooler temperatures by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, highs will climb into the mid-80s Monday and approach 90°F in some areas Tuesday, especially along and south of the I-70 corridor. Rain chances begin increasing Tuesday afternoon and evening, particularly for areas north of I-70, signaling the start of a wetter pattern.

By Wednesday, rain becomes more widespread, with chances jumping to 60–90% across much of the state. Cities including Columbia, Jefferson City, and St. Louis could see steady rainfall through the day, with temperatures dropping significantly into the 50s and 60s. That marks a notable cooldown from early-week highs near 90°F.

Thursday brings the highest rain chances of the week, reaching 80–90%, which could lead to periods of moderate to heavy rainfall and slower travel on major routes like I-44 and I-55. Rain chances ease slightly by Friday but remain in the 30–50% range.

Residents should prepare for changing conditions by midweek, including wet roads and cooler air. Additional advisories may be issued as rain coverage and totals become clearer.
