St. Louis, Missouri – Easter Sunday travel across eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois is expected to remain smooth, with near-normal temperatures and only minimal rain chances during early morning hours.

According to the National Weather Service, a stable weather pattern will hold across the central U.S. through Wednesday night, keeping precipitation near to slightly below normal. The St. Louis metro, including communities along both sides of the Mississippi River, may see a brief round of light showers early Sunday between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., but most of the day will remain dry.

Major routes including I-70, I-64, and I-55 are expected to stay in good condition, with only brief wet pavement possible during passing showers. No widespread travel disruptions or visibility concerns are anticipated.

Temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages, providing comfortable conditions for Easter gatherings, outdoor services, and egg hunts. Morning hours may feel slightly cool, but afternoon readings will support extended outdoor plans.

Communities including Belleville, Edwardsville, and Columbia, Missouri, will see long dry stretches through the holiday and into early next week.

This quiet pattern continues through midweek, with only isolated rain chances returning and no major advisories expected at this time.
