St. Louis, Missouri – Thunderstorms could soak parts of Missouri Thursday and Friday, with St. Louis likely to see periods of heavy rain and a few rumbles of thunder before skies clear in time for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, there’s a 60% to 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday, with highs ranging from 68 to 75 degrees and overnight lows in the mid-50s to mid-60s. Rain chances remain at 30% to 40% on Friday before drier air moves in Saturday.

Communities across central and eastern Missouri—including Columbia, Jefferson City, and Cape Girardeau—may experience slick roads during the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. Localized ponding on low-lying roads is possible during heavier showers. Residents should monitor weather alerts and avoid driving through water-covered streets.

Temperatures will remain mild through the weekend, with sunshine and highs in the upper 60s to low 70s expected Saturday and Sunday. Outdoor events and travel plans are expected to proceed without disruption after Friday afternoon.

Rain clears from the region by Friday evening, with dry and seasonable weather continuing through Sunday. The National Weather Service says no additional advisories are expected at this time, but updates will be issued if conditions change.
