Missouri residents are facing hazardous weather conditions as strong winds and snow continue to impact major highways and local travel through Thursday. A blizzard warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday for northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri, while Springfield and central parts of the state remain under a wind advisory until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, additional snow accumulations of up to three inches are possible in affected areas, with wind gusts reaching up to 70 mph. These conditions are causing reduced visibility and icy roadways, especially along I-70 near Kansas City and I-44 near Springfield. Drivers should limit travel to emergencies and check local road conditions before heading out.
