Missouri – A Fire Weather Watch is in effect Monday across parts of Missouri, as gusty winds and dry conditions increase fire risks.
According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, the Fire Weather Watch will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Monday for counties along and west of Highway 65. South winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, are expected. Relative humidity could drop as low as 23%, creating conditions favorable for wildfires. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor burning.
Temperatures will be warm Monday, reaching a high of 74°F in Springfield. Winds will strengthen in the afternoon before calming Monday night, with lows around 56°F.
Looking ahead, Tuesday will be partly sunny and breezy, with a high of 78°F. A slight cooldown follows midweek, with highs near 62°F Wednesday and a chance of showers in the afternoon. Overnight lows will dip to 32°F. By Thursday, the first full day of spring, sunny skies return with highs around 59°F.
