Union, MO – A tornado touched down in Franklin County on March 14, moving from Elmont to the southern outskirts of Union, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in St. Louis. The EF-1 tornado caused damage to homes, barns, trees, and telephone poles.
According to NWS, the tornado traveled approximately 19.2 miles with a maximum width of 100 yards. Despite the damage, no fatalities or injuries were reported.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain cautious of debris and potential hazards left in the tornado’s path. Cleanup efforts are underway, and local authorities urge residents to report any structural damage.
