Springfield, MO – Southwest Missouri residents can expect unseasonably warm and dry conditions to persist through the end of the week, with no rainfall in sight. Daytime highs will climb into the low-to-upper 80s, well above the seasonal norm, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Springfield.

According to NWS forecasters, temperatures from Tuesday through Friday will range between 82 and 87 degrees during the day, compared to the typical late-September highs of 71 to 76 degrees. Overnight lows will remain mild, settling in the upper 50s to mid-60s, several degrees warmer than the average low of 49 to 53 degrees.

The extended dry stretch comes as parts of the region continue to see lower-than-average rainfall totals, raising concerns about ongoing dry conditions. Farmers and outdoor workers may face added stress due to the heat and lack of precipitation. Commuters and event-goers can expect sunny skies but should prepare for warmer afternoons.

The warmer-than-usual weather pattern is expected to last through Friday, with no major shifts currently forecast. The NWS advises residents to stay hydrated and take precautions when working outdoors, particularly during peak afternoon heat.
