St. Louis, MO – Freezing rain and thunderstorms are expected to impact central Missouri and west-central Illinois today and into Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in St. Louis, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect Saturday morning for northeastern Missouri and west-central Illinois, including portions of I-70, where freezing rain is creating slick roadways. Rainfall will continue through the day, with the heaviest rain expected after sunset. Thunderstorms may develop later this evening.
Sunday will bring a shift to drier conditions, with partly sunny skies and highs near 55°F south of I-70, while temperatures north of the interstate will hover around 45°F. Residents should exercise caution while traveling and stay alert for updated weather conditions.
Looking ahead, showers and thunderstorms return Monday, followed by clearer skies and mild temperatures on Tuesday.
