Minutes later, officers from District 3 responded to a crash on I-55 northbound near the Gasconade entrance ramp. The collision involved the reported gray Kia SUV and a white Corvette. Authorities confirmed the driver of the Kia, an adult woman, and the driver of the Corvette, an adult man, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The northbound lanes of I-55 have been closed at the 4500 block of South Broadway while the department’s Accident Reconstruction unit conducts an investigation. Police have not released the identities of those involved as of Thursday night.
