Missouri Tornado Update: 4 Twisters Confirmed with 100 mph Winds Through Early Tuesday

St. Louis, Missouri – Four tornadoes touched down across eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois late Monday into early Tuesday, bringing wind speeds up to 100 mph and causing damage along several rural roads.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, all confirmed tornadoes were rated EF-1 or weaker. The twisters hit areas including Ste. Genevieve, Iron, Washington, and St. Francois counties in Missouri, as well as Randolph County in Illinois. The strongest storm struck along State Highway DD north of Maxwells Mill, MO, with 100 mph winds just before 10 p.m. Monday.

In Ste. Genevieve County, a brief EF-0 tornado with 85 mph winds crossed Dry Fork Road west of Kinsey around midnight. Another EF-1 touched down between Iron Mountain Lake and the Bismarck Conservation Area, carving a 4.24-mile path. A fourth tornado hit near Fish Lake Road south of Prairie du Rocher, IL, around 12:21 a.m. Tuesday.

Residents are urged to report any damage and remain alert for additional updates as survey teams continue assessing the storm paths. More tornado confirmations are possible as analysis continues across the region.
