Springfield, MO – Parts of Missouri face heavy rain and thunderstorms beginning Saturday, continuing through Tuesday, with the highest rainfall probabilities west of the Highway 65 corridor. The National Weather Service in Springfield forecasts several inches of rain across cities, including Joplin, Springfield, and Branson, increasing the potential for flash floods.

According to the NWS, Joplin has a 99% chance of receiving at least one inch of rain, with Springfield at 98% and Branson at 81%. The likelihood of two inches of rain remains high for these areas, while the chance for over three inches peaks at 73% in Springfield and 37% in West Plains.

Officials advise residents to monitor weather updates and prepare for possible flooding, especially in flood-prone areas.
