Missouri residents should prepare for an active weather pattern as thunderstorms and strong winds are expected Friday night into early Saturday. The system could bring severe storms, damaging winds, and even the potential for tornadoes, particularly in central and eastern parts of the state.
According to the National Weather Service, storms are likely to develop Friday afternoon and intensify into the evening. A 90% chance of precipitation is forecast in the St. Louis region, with heavy rainfall and gusty winds creating hazardous travel conditions on major highways, including I-70 and I-44. Kansas City will also see showers and storms, with wind gusts reaching up to 23 mph.
Friday night will be breezy, with overnight lows in the mid-50s. By Saturday, the front will clear out, bringing drier conditions and cooler temperatures, with highs around 68°F in St. Louis and 55°F in Kansas City. A slight chance of rain lingers into Saturday night, but Sunday is expected to be sunny and mild across Missouri.
Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will bring warmer temperatures, with highs reaching the upper 60s to low 70s. Travelers and outdoor planners should stay weather-aware and monitor updates for any severe weather alerts.
