Missouri Sees 8 Inches of Rain in 3 Days

St. Louis, MO – Missouri has been drenched with heavy rainfall over the past three days, with some areas recording up to 8 inches of rain. The National Weather Service in St. Louis reported that the highest rainfall total was near Columbia, MO, with 8.00 inches. Kingdom City followed closely with 7.92 inches, while Hallsville recorded 7.23 inches.

According to the National Weather Service, these totals were observed as of 7 a.m. on July 5. The significant rainfall has caused localized flooding in central Missouri and areas extending eastward. A flood warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, July 10.

Following a brief period of dry weather, rain chances are expected to return to Missouri from Sunday night through Tuesday. The National Weather Service forecasts scattered showers and thunderstorms during this period. While the showers are not expected to be as widespread or persistent as the recent downpours, residents are advised to stay prepared and carry umbrellas.

In St. Louis, temperatures are predicted to range from a low of 66°F to a high of 86°F on Saturday. Sunday will be slightly warmer, with temperatures reaching 90°F. The beginning of the week will bring more rain, with highs around 87°F on Monday and 82°F on Tuesday. As the week progresses, rain chances decrease, and temperatures are expected to stabilize in the low 80s.
