Springfield, MO – Rain chances return to southern Missouri this weekend, with the highest likelihood Sunday afternoon east of Highway 65. Temperatures will trend upward, offering a mild respite from recent cold conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, rain chances range between 40% and 70% Sunday, particularly in south-central Missouri. Showers are expected to develop by the afternoon and persist into the evening, impacting areas including Branson and Ava. Travelers along Highway 65 should remain alert for slick roads and reduced visibility.

Saturday will be mostly dry, with temperatures reaching 53 to 58 degrees under partly sunny skies. Overnight lows will dip to the upper 30s, setting the stage for a cooler Sunday morning. Sunday’s high will hover near 59 degrees before rain moves in later in the day.

Looking ahead, Monday will bring another warm day with highs in the mid-50s and mostly sunny skies. Cooler nights, however, will linger, with lows in the 40s expected through midweek.

Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware and monitor local forecasts. Keep umbrellas and rain gear ready for Sunday, and use caution on wet roadways.

Be sure to check for updates as forecasts evolve, especially if planning outdoor activities. The warming trend offers a chance to enjoy milder weather, but rain may disrupt travel and events late in the weekend.
