St. Louis, Missouri – Drivers heading south of I-70 for Memorial Day weekend plans may need umbrellas and jackets, as persistent light rain and cooler temperatures continue through Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, scattered showers—especially over southeastern Missouri—will be most likely along and south of the I-70 corridor, with rain chances around 60%. Areas to the north and east will see lower rain probabilities between 30–50%, and most regions will still experience dry breaks between passing showers.
Temperatures are expected to remain below seasonal averages, with highs ranging from 60° to 65° in rain-cooled areas and closer to 70° where conditions stay mostly dry. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s, making outdoor evening plans potentially brisk.
Cities such as Rolla, Cape Girardeau, and Poplar Bluff could see the steadiest rainfall, while St. Louis and Columbia may only experience spotty activity. Drivers should watch for slick roads during peak travel hours, especially on I-44 and Route 60.
The cooler, unsettled pattern is expected to linger through Memorial Day. Residents are advised to check local forecasts and remain weather-aware, as more updates and possible advisories could be issued through Monday.
