Paducah, Kentucky – A significant warming trend is expected to develop across the Paducah region early next week, following a stretch of seasonably cool January weather.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, today and Sunday will remain fairly cool, with temperatures near normal for early January. Highs are forecast to range from the upper 30s to mid-40s through the weekend, with overnight lows in the 20s and lower 30s.
Warmer conditions begin to take hold Monday, when highs are expected to climb into the mid to upper 50s. The warming trend accelerates Tuesday, with temperatures rising into the low to mid-60s across much of western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri.
By Wednesday and Thursday, highs are forecast to range from the upper 50s to near 70 degrees. The National Weather Service noted that rain and thunderstorm chances will increase beginning Wednesday night and continue into Thursday as the warmer pattern becomes established.
While no severe weather details were provided, the shift marks a notable departure from typical early January conditions.
For commuters, students, and outdoor workers, the warmer temperatures may improve daytime comfort, though wet conditions could affect travel later in the week.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts as rain and thunderstorm chances approach midweek.
