St. Louis, MO – The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of northeast Missouri and west central Illinois, where 1 to 3 inches of snow are expected to fall between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday.

The advisory covers Adams and Brown Counties in Illinois and Knox, Lewis, Shelby, Marion, Monroe, and Ralls Counties in Missouri, including the cities of Quincy, Hannibal, and Mount Sterling.

Forecasters warn that roadways could become slick and snow-covered, particularly by the Monday evening commute, as light to moderate snow continues through the afternoon. Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution when traveling.

Although snowfall totals are expected to remain on the lighter side, even minor accumulation may lead to reduced visibility and hazardous driving conditions, especially on untreated roads and bridges.

Residents can check updated travel information through GettingAroundIllinois.com or traveler.modot.org, as crews work to treat and clear affected highways through Monday evening.

The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. CST Monday.
