East Saint Louis, IL – A Lotto player in Illinois is waking up $14.6 million richer after matching all six numbers in Monday’s drawing, marking the largest jackpot won in the state so far this year.

According to the Illinois Lottery, the winning ticket was sold at Crown Mart, located at 306 E. Broadway in East Saint Louis. The lucky numbers drawn on Monday were 5-9-14-18-22-23.

Store manager Ed Hamed said Crown Mart has seen a wave of excitement since the win. “Our phone has been ringing off the hook with customers calling to congratulate us for selling the jackpot-winning Lotto ticket,” Hamed said. “In my nine years managing this location, this is the biggest winning ticket we’ve ever sold.”

For selling the winning ticket, Crown Mart will receive a $146,000 retailer bonus. Hamed plans to use the funds to renovate the store and reward staff members for their service and dedication.

The August 25 drawing capped a jackpot run that began February 10 and produced five Illinois Lotto millionaires. Previous $1 million winners this year include tickets sold on July 10 at a Citgo in Justice, and others through the Illinois Lottery’s online platform.

So far in 2025, Illinois Lottery players have won more than $44.8 million across nearly 4.5 million winning Lotto tickets.

Lotto is an Illinois-only game, drawn three times a week on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at retail locations, online, or through the Illinois Lottery app.
