Investigators said Dunn was crossing the street when she was hit by a northbound vehicle. The driver allegedly left the scene.

Emergency crews transported Dunn to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Accident Reconstruction detectives later located the striking vehicle, an Infiniti QX70, abandoned in the 3700 block of North Grand near a gas station.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect, described as a thin-built Black male with a beard and short hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black baseball cap, a black T-shirt with a large red-and-white decal of a stag skull, black shorts, and red-and-black Jordan tennis shoes. Authorities said the man fled on foot after leaving the vehicle at the gas station.
