Springfield, MO – Missouri’s National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Jacks Fork at Alley Spring, warning of potential flooding in the area. The alert is in effect from Friday evening through late Sunday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, as of 5:30 AM CDT Thursday, the river stage was recorded at 4.6 feet. Flood stage is 9 feet, and flooding may occur as early as tomorrow evening. At 13 feet, the Alley Spring Campground will be completely flooded.

The watch area includes Shannon County, where residents are advised to remain alert for possible rising waters. Excessive rainfall could further elevate river levels and cause flooding across low-lying areas.

As rainstorms are expected to continue through the weekend, authorities recommend that residents in affected areas prepare for possible flood conditions, including avoiding travel near creeks, streams, or rivers. The National Weather Service will provide additional updates, with the next statement scheduled for 9 PM CDT this evening.
