Missouri Deputies Shot At While Serving Warrant in Springfield

Springfield, MO – A Greene County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) team encountered gunfire while serving a felony warrant Monday afternoon. Deputies were attempting to arrest Theodore Davis, 41, at a residence in the 1400 block of East Blaine Street.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, additional deputies and Springfield Police quickly secured the area. Davis, persuaded by family members and deputies, surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody. One deputy was struck by gunfire but was protected by the rifle plates in his vest. He was evaluated at a local hospital and released.
