St. Louis, MO – Light rain is forecast to linger across Missouri through Christmas Day, impacting areas along I-44 and I-55. Temperatures will remain above freezing, ensuring a wet but snow-free holiday.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, rain will move into the region Tuesday afternoon, continuing intermittently into Wednesday. Rainfall amounts will generally stay light, with the heaviest showers expected south of I-44 in Missouri and east of I-55 in Illinois.

Temperatures on Christmas Day are forecast to reach a high of 47°F, with patchy fog in the morning. Overnight lows will dip to 42°F. For travelers heading out, roads will remain wet but free of ice, making it critical to exercise caution while driving.

The rain is expected to persist later this week, with chances of showers at 40% on Wednesday night and increasing to 70% Thursday into Friday. Highs will climb steadily, peaking at 60°F by Saturday, making for a warmer-than-average end to the holiday week.

For residents preparing Christmas festivities or travel, keeping an eye on updated forecasts and road conditions is advisable. While snow won’t be part of this year’s holiday, rain may dampen outdoor plans.
