St. Louis, MO – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in a carjacking that took place early Monday morning in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened around 4 a.m. in the 3600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Authorities said the suspects approached a victim, demanded his property, and then fled the scene in a red Jeep Patriot that had previously been stolen out of Washington Park, Illinois.

Investigators said both vehicles tied to the case have since been recovered. One was located back in Washington Park, while the other was found in the 4800 block of Kossuth in St. Louis. Detectives are reviewing surveillance images and are asking residents to pay close attention to the suspects’ clothing and shoes in the photos released by police.
