Kansas City, MO – A winter storm is expected to hit Missouri on Valentine’s Day, bringing snow and icy conditions to roads across the region. The National Weather Service warns that snowfall totals could reach up to six inches by Friday evening, with another system arriving late Friday into Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, accumulating snowfall is expected across northwest, north-central, and west-central Missouri, with travel conditions worsening throughout the day Friday. Winds could create blowing snow and reduced visibility, making hazardous road conditions likely on highways, including I-70 and I-35.
Saturday will bring a mix of rain and snow before temperatures plummet again into the single digits overnight. By Sunday, conditions are expected to improve, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper teens. However, another round of snow is possible early next week.
Drivers are urged to allow extra time for travel, monitor weather updates, and prepare for icy roads. Stay tuned for more updates as the storm develops.
