St. Louis, MO – Missouri residents are preparing for potentially severe weather as Tropical Storm Beryl approaches. Forecasts indicate that by Tuesday night, the remnants of Beryl could bring heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois.

According to the US National Weather Service in St. Louis, the storm’s track is still uncertain, but a further south route would result in heavy rain and potential flash flooding in the region. Meanwhile, a northern track would spread heavy rainfall across a broader area, increasing the risk of flash floods. These areas have already seen several inches of rain in recent days, heightening the flood threat.

In addition to heavy rain, Beryl’s impact may include gusty winds and rising river stages for the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. The National Weather Service advises residents to stay informed by checking updates from the National Hurricane Center and local weather alerts.

Looking ahead, rain chances will return from west to east late this afternoon through Monday. St. Louis can expect partly cloudy conditions today with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. Showers and thunderstorms are likely from late Sunday into Monday, with rain chances peaking at 50-60%.
